7/8/14
July Fourth weekend
one officer died
still sunshine reigned.
Chicago was great
Jen came back alive
while eighteen families
mourned.
2 flowerbeds weeded, 1 painting finished!
2 loads of laundry, 1 sink full of dishes,
2 chapters of a book, 1 clean house,
AND went to a family reunion.
Music like a Miyazaki film
as pillar clouds float across a Disney blue sky
perfect night to a stormy day.

New book idea
In order to support all the the cafe related poetry I am starting a new book, "cafe Haiku". It will include all the poems written at work while there are no customers or my mind is wandering. Look for my first book "Thirty and Single" sometime in 2015.
