Perhaps you couldn't find enough haiku poems to feed your mind. In this quiet space you can preview what may end up in my next book.

Book of my own

So the book that this other woman published, and got paid for, that I didn't like (see original post). It was haiku for the single girl. Well today I started to write my own book Single and Thirty

Single and thirty
no responsibilities
kids, husband, or dog.

Single and thirty
independent thinker with
no one to warn me.

Single and thirty
unsure of the future. When
will I feel secure?

Single and thirty
still broke with bills to pay. Why
don't jobs pay ten bucks?

I'll add more verses as they come. But this is where I am today.

Carousel ~3 poems

Comfy lion. I sit
sweet smile go round and round.
my carousel joy.

Bouncy puppet
full of joy, entertain me while i ride
carousel.

Babies stare and drool
giggles and snorts of all sorts
round and round we go.

What to do when lost
kneel pray, ask directions, cry.
Never alone, stand.

In class
     please please stop talking
your words float over me like waves
     without air i die.

Words fascinate me
the thirsting for words drives me
read devour write.

Haiku, haiku
make me run after you
like catching bubbles
with the hand.

(17 syllables- it still counts.)

Found Haiku

"Change is difficult,
but often essential to
survival."-Citizens.

This is the tag line for my water & gas company. I often wonder why some tag lines work better. It's because of the number of syllables they are using. Utilities haiku!

The fresh snap pop sound
ice cold Pepsi, mine-not yours.
Sugary bubbles.

My tummy grumbles.
Daisies look like gumdrops or
rollos. Lunch is when?

It finally rained
today while you were at work
sorry you missed it.

Breathe deep earth! Suck in
every drop of rain. This drought
dries my spirit too!

Rain you could dance in
not just a sprinkle, real rain
girlish barefoot rain.

The seed

For years now I've been attracted to haiku poems. I love the Japanese masters of old and how they can shrink human emotion, a moral lesson and a season into three tiny lines.  I have now read every book of haiku in my public county library.
The last book of haiku that I read stunk! In frustration i said to myself, "I'll have to write a book of my own." So welcome to my haiku blog.
